If you are attending the event, but have not had a chance to contact us yet, please let us know as soon as possible. This will help us to order the right amount of food. 2. Registration Fee (Food and hall)

A fee will be charged to cover the cost of food, hall, and other miscellaneous items. Please bring CASH or CHECK; we DON”T accept credit cards.

Adults (13 yrs and over) $12.00 each
Children (5-12 yrs) $7.00 each
Children (under 5 yrs) Free

Large families with more than five Adults: additional adult member will be charged $10 each. E.g., family with seven adults will pay $80. (5X$12)+ (2X$10)= $80.

Guests will not be counted as family members.

3. Membership

Membership is required to attend this event. This is the time to renew your membership if your membership is expired. Those who renewed their membership at the New Year event in Phoenix, you don’t need to pay this time. Please note that the membership fee has been reduced and you have a choice to get a two-year membership, which is cheaper than annual membership. Membership forms and information will be available at the registration desk.

Because of construction work the Speedway Blvd Exit is closed. Please don't rely on google, mapquest, or yahoo directions.

Take Exit 252 (Ruthrauff Rd), stay on freeway until it hits Speedway

Take right at Speedway

El Rio Neighborhood Center is in the NW corner of Speedway and Riverview.

You can also take exit 251 (Sunset Dr) instead of 252. If you miss exit 252, you have to drive 10 more miles to come back.

Merge onto N. Freeway Rd (381ft)

Turn Right at W. Speedway Bldv (0.6 m.)

Coming from New Mexico (or East)

Take Exit 261 (6th Avenue), Stay on right lane. Otherwise there are three lanes and you may miss the exit for Tucson City

Take left at Speedway Blvd

Cultural Program Participation

As usual Cultural Program is going to be one of the major events of dashain on Oct 4th. Preparation for this event is under way already. But, as it requires a team effort and we solicit our friends’ help and cooperation to put together a fabulous show for the community. Hence, please help us again by participating in the program or assisting performers and coordinators in their prep work. Bhutanese friends are also welcome to participate.

  • There will be No more than 16 items.
  • Items that can be included: dance, song, comics and comedies, musical instrument play.
  • Registration is required to perform and it is “First come first serve” basis.
  • To allow more people to participate, pls. make your item no longer than 5 min.
  • Songs and Tracks must be in CD.
  • Performers are responsible for bringing their own costumes, songs and any other necessary items.
  • Registration must be received by Sept. 30, 08.
  • NAFA will provide the following items:

  • Microphones and sound system
  • Madals
  • CD players (but NO audio cassette player)

    Art Competition

    We are pleased to inform you that NAFA is organizing an art competition for middle school and high school students alongside other activities to celebrate the upcoming Dashain 2008. The theme is Naya Nepal (New Nepal).

    • All students who wish to participate for the art competitions are required to let the organizer know by September 27, 2008 so that necessary logistic could be made.
    • Participants are requested to bring in their finished art for exhibition on October 4 to the same venue where we will be celebrating Dashain.
    • The art work should be no smaller than 17 x 22 or larger than 22 x 34 inches.
    • The name of the artists should not appear in the front side of the art work.
    • The art work will be categorized according to grade levels for judging purposes.
    • Any art medium can be used (ink sketch, water color, oil painting, collage, charcoal drawing, colored pencils, etc).
    • Be creative, use your imagination, and show us your talents.

    NAFA will provide a cash award to the winners and consolation prizes to all participants.
