Dear Community Members,

New Year 2068 is knocking our door and the countdown has begun! NAFA executive committee and friends from Tucson and Phoenix are working diligently to make the New Year's eve program exciting and memorable. You are already informed about the event. With this email, NAFA formally and cordially invites you to join and celebrate our new year. Please find below the details and some other relevant information related to the event.

1. Date, Time, Venue, and Driving Direction:


Date: Saturday, April 16, 2011
Time: 1:00 PM to 7:45 PM
Venue: Mountain View Park and Community Center
8625 E. Mountain View Road
Scottsdale, AZ 85258

Driving Direction:
Coming from South on 101: Take 90-Pima Exit. Pass Via de Ventura Road. Next light is Mountain View Road. Take Left on Mountain View Road. Go quarter of a mile. The Scottsdale Community Center is on your left.

Coming from North on 101: Take Shea Exit.  Make right on Shea.  Go West on Shea.  Pass 84 St.  2nd stop light is Hayden.  Make left on Hayden (South).  First light is Mountain View. Take a left on Mountain View. Drive approximately quarter of a mile. After Cochise Elementary school is our Scottsdale Community Center on your right.

2. Registration Fee:


Registration fee will be as follows:

  • Adult (>10 yrs): $15
  • Children (6-10 yrs): $10
  • Children (<5 yrs): Free
  • Maximum number of members in a family to be charged is 5
  • Guests are to be charged since they are not considered as family members
There has been marginal increase in the registration fee from the past. This has been necessary to keep up with the total cost of food, hall rental, prizes, and other necessary logistics required for the event.

Tentative schedule of the day is as below:

1:00 - Door opens, Registration Desk Setup, Decoration and Executive committee meeting
2:00 - Registration Begins (Kalyani Panta, Gajendra Shrestha, Achyut Shrestha, and Volunteers)
2:00 – 3:00 Snacks, and Socialization
3:00 – 4:00 Community Address (MC – Arju Upreti)
Welcome Message/New year greeting (Siru Prasai)
Community Updates (Satya Chataut)
Introduction by Attendees
NAFA News (Charity etc) (Satya Chataut)
3:00 – 4:00 Kabita Bachan (MC: Sashi Gyawali)
4:00 – 5:00 Dinner
5:45 – 6:00 Felicitation to the Honorary Members (Siru Prasai)
6:00 – 6:30 Soccer Prize Distribution (Siru Prasai)
6:30 – 7:45 Cultural program (MC – Upendra Puri and Bishnu Shah)
7:45 – 7:50 Closing Remarks (Arju Upreti)
7:45 – 8:00 Clean-up (Volunteers' help will be sought)

4. NAFA Membership:


We request you all to become a member of NAFA. This is one of the ways to help and support our organization. For those who have been a member in the past, but have not renewed for current year, please renew your membership. The information for membership will be available at the registration desk.

We are also looking for donations/sponsorship. Please come forward, send us email with your contribution $, or do so at the registration desk,  to support NAFA and its activities by your generous contributions. Names of the contributors will also be read during the event.
